Motions in Supreme Queens are now returnable Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings in Jamaica, and Thursday mornings in Long Island City.
Motions should be made returnable before the IAS Judge in the Courtroom on the days of the week and times on the chart below.
Each Judge has their own Part rules and procedures... http://www.nycourts.gov/courts/11jd/supreme/civilterm/civil_partrules.shtml
While the new motion procedures are more challenging to cover then the CMP, it is essentially a return to the way things were done for many years. My office is providing full coverage in all the Supreme Queens motion parts.
We are tracking and evaluating the policies in each part, which will evolve over time. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding motion practice in Supreme Queens, either prior to making the motion and/or regarding coverage.
On e-filed motions, working copies are still required (except for Judge Caloras in Long Island City who does not require working copies). Many of the Parts require tabs on exhibits or they will not accept the papers (Yup!!) If you are sending us hard-copies, please include tabs. If you are emailing us a working copy and tabs are needed, this is unfortunately a $25 additional fee.
